**New Levels of Customization and Capability**

iPhone users now have more ways to customize their Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Control Center. Apps and widgets can be arranged in any open space on the Home Screen, and app icons can be customized with dark or tinted effects or made larger. Control Center has been redesigned for easier access to frequently used controls, with the option to add controls from third-party apps. Users can now customize or remove Lock Screen controls and use the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro models for quick access to controls.


**Photos Gets a Unified View, New Collections, and Customization**

The Photos app receives its largest redesign yet, featuring a simplified single view and new collections for easier browsing. Collections can be pinned for quick access, and a new carousel view presents daily highlights. The app's customization options allow users to organize collections and pin frequently accessed ones.


**Powerful Ways to Stay Connected in Messages**

iMessage introduces new text effects, formatting options, expanded Tapbacks, and scheduled messaging. Messages now support RCS for richer media and reliable group messaging with non-Apple devices. Messages via satellite allows users to send and receive texts, emoji, and Tapbacks when cellular or Wi-Fi connections are unavailable, with end-to-end encryption for iMessages.

**Enhancements to Mail**

Mail will soon introduce on-device categorization to organize incoming emails into Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. A new digest view compiles relevant emails from businesses for quick access.


**Big Updates to Safari**

Safari now features Highlights and a redesigned Reader experience, using machine learning to surface key information and summaries of web pages. The new Passwords app offers easy access to passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and verification codes, with alerts for common password weaknesses.


**New Privacy Features Designed to Empower Users**

iOS 18 enhances user control over app visibility, contact sharing, and accessory connections. Locked and hidden apps provide additional privacy, and users can share specific contacts with apps or seamlessly connect third-party accessories.

Deeply integrated into iOS 18, Apple Intelligence offers new ways to enhance writing and communication with systemwide Writing Tools and Image Playground for creating playful images.
